Kyte announced the expansion of its footprint outside of Miami, South Florida on September 23. Starting immediately, consumers can rent cars delivered on demand in more than 15 Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods. With year-over-year growth since 2019, this marks Kyte’s 14th market in the United States and the company’s next step in its continued expansion, according to the announcement.

Kyte’s technology aims to circumvent the traditional drawbacks of renting a car and replacing the idea of vehicle access with on-demand cars with a mobile-first alternative, according to the company. In Fort Lauderdale, consumers will be able to access Kyte services in Boulevard Gardens, Broadview Park, Coral Ridge, Dania Beach, Emerald Hills, Hacienda Village, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Hollywood Lakes, Harbordale, Lauderhill, Lazy Lake, Melrose Manors, Oakland Park, Washington Park and Wilson Manors as well as the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Davie.

“To help drive demand for a smarter, more sustainable alternative to traditional car ownership in the United States, we are committed to bringing Kyte to new markets across the country,” said Ludwig Schoenack, co-founder of Kyte. “Our primary goal is to lead the way in a better understanding of mobility and this expansion to Fort Lauderdale is an important step in providing even more consumers with a shared, connected and autonomous transportation solution.”

“From the beginning, our goal was to completely redefine transportation by radically changing the perception of car ownership,” Schoenack added. “By adding an additional city to our network and expanding our reach in South Florida, we’re getting closer to getting cars to more people when and how they need them.”

Earlier this year, Kyte announced significant funding from Goldman Sachs to expand its fleet, expansion into the Denver and Portland markets, and the launch of a new Tesla subscription model in San Francisco and New York.
