Škoda will help in Moravia. Rent cars and donate bikes to people who have lost everything

Škoda Auto, in cooperation with the unions in Kofu, took immediate action to help cyclone-affected areas in South Moravia. The automaker will provide more than 50 vehicles to homes and volunteers and donate bicycles to those affected by the disaster.

Car rental will be free for the assistance needed in affected municipalities and towns. It can be used by volunteers, humanitarian organizations and also citizens who have lost their car as a result of a natural disaster. These cars are available immediately from the automotive and automotive business of the HoppyGo carsharing platform from koda Auto DigiLab.

“Škoda Auto feels obligated to help the inhabitants of the areas affected by the cyclone in southern Moravia. To help volunteers and people who have lost their car, Škoda cars will be flexibly available through the HoppyGo platform. The company is also launching a fundraising campaign where employees can help volunteers and people who have lost their cars, ”said Thomas Schaefer, Chairman of the Board. The contribution to Škoda Auto will double the amount collected.

Employees will have the option of contributing directly from salary or by transferring the amount to a charitable account established with the Civil Society Development Foundation. The collection continues until July 4 and the management of the company is committed to doubling the amount collected.

In addition, the local headquarters of the car manufacturer ships more than 100 bicycles from the Škoda range. “Because in an emergency situation at the scene of a disaster, the bicycle is a very efficient means of transport,” he explains.

The aid is part of the #SKODAUTOPomaha initiative, which the automaker launched last year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
