Toyota Motor: Automobile Museum to Host 32nd Vintage Car Festival in Japan

Nagakute City, Aichi, Japan, September 24, 2021 ― Toyota Automobile Museum will host its 32nd Classic Car Festival on Sunday October 24 at Aichi Exhibition Memorial Park in Nagakute City, Aichi. The community event aims to promote and support automotive culture.

Under the theme of this year, “Owning a sustainable car as a rising culture” The festival features a street parade and exhibition that will pay homage to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), accompanied by a variety of information via a fun live broadcast. Under the theme of sustainability, the parade of classic cars made 30 years or more ago will be joined by some of the latest electric vehicles.

The parade route runs through downtown Nagakute so that many spectators can stop and cheer. About 100 private cars will depart from the museum and parade through the city before reaching the Aichi Exhibition Memorial Park. The spectacular parade will include old and new vehicles spanning 100 years of automotive history in Japan, the United States and Europe. Toyota’s LQ concept vehicle, Mirai fuel cell vehicle and ultra-compact C + pod battery electric vehicle will complete these entries.

Various events will take place at the site, including an exhibition of parade vehicles, a demonstration of the power capability of an electric vehicle, a presentation of restoration projects and an exhibition related to motorsport.

The events will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the automotive community site GAZOO and on a local cable TV channel (Himawari 11). The broadcasts will be in two parts: the first, in the morning, will cover the parade, and the afternoon part will feature Udo Suzuki (of comedy duo Kyaeen) and his humorous report from the hall.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, the number of participants at the Aichi Exhibition Memorial Park site will be appropriately limited. If Aichi Prefecture is in a state of emergency on the day of the event, for example, entry will be severely restricted.
