UK carmakers collaborate on EV, Aura concept car – News

British automakers are collaborating on a new electric concept car called Aura.

The open-top two-seater was created by British manufacturers such as Astheimer, Potenza Technology, BAMD Composites, Conjure and Spark EV.

The project lasted just under a year and received funding from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.

With an exterior made from natural fiber composites, the vehicle is both lightweight and durable. The Aura is also very aerodynamically efficient due to its digital fluid dynamics and rear wheel covers.

While we don’t have all the details like the physical dimensions yet, it’s clear that the car is quite compact. However, he will definitely have a powerful punch!

It has a pair of 44 kWh batteries, making a total of 88 kWh. On top of that, the EV can supposedly travel around 643 km on a single charge.

Interestingly, the cabin of the car will feature an advanced human-machine interface (HMI) with 3D visualization that will provide real-time information on the aerodynamic performance of the car. The steering wheel is also quite unique, with a large, self-centering display where the airbag would normally be.

Aura is complemented by an advanced software suite from Spark EV that provides charge and battery life readings with 99.5% accuracy. It will help relieve the anxiety of the driver rangers!

Spark EV CEO Justin Ott told Autocar that the makers of the Aura wanted to eliminate buyers’ mistrust of electric vehicles by addressing range anxiety, which tends to be a big concern for them. buyers of electric vehicles.

The concept hopes to “show the world how the industry can use the technology available today to help overcome these obstacles,” says Ott.
