Verbal argument leads to assault with car

Although the suspect was technically arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, in this case the suspect, Shawn Stephenson, ran over the victim with his car, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer, Srgt. Juan Valencia.

At approximately 8:06 p.m. on February 19, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 19000 block of Olive Avenue after a verbal argument over a woman led Stephenson to intentionally attempt to run over the victim , Valencia said.

The victim began to walk away from the vehicle when Stephenson struck her in the lower body with the front passenger side of the car.

The victim suffered a left knee injury and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, Valencia said. Stephenson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and later incarcerated in Sonoma County Jail.

Grand theft

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident at the 900 block of Glenwood Drive for a suspected theft on Monday, Feb. 21 at 2:49 p.m., Valencia said.

The victim reported that a $1,200 generator stored in the back of his van was stolen. Law enforcement has no information on the unknown suspect, Valencia said.

Suspected rape

A report of an alleged rape was forwarded to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office by Child Protective Services on Feb. 15, according to Valencia. No additional information could be provided at this stage.
